😸Wanya worked with me and his personal trainer @suttondeathjr starting in august 2020 (shown in 1st video). When he first started with me he was under tremendous stress and hadn’t had a full nights sleep in months.

Reflecting back on 2020 brings a rush of emotions. Reflecting back on 2020 brings a rush of emotions. Some of them are so pleasant and happy and some quite frankly are of frustration of things not going as planned and learning how to overcome those challenges.

📝Every year I set goals. Its something I’ve done since high school. 

In 2018 my main goal was to deepen my friendships. 

2019 was to travel more and to practice being present in the moment.

2020 was to be fully focused on my Dietetics Practice as a full time entrepreneur.

😳 While this has been one hell of a year to go all in it has taught me valuable lessons along the way:

1. Be #innovative 🛠
It was necessary to pivot quickly this year as i quickly was reminded is no one path to success. Thank you to covid and going fully online with all aspects of consulting and networking to teach me that lesson!

2. #patience 🧘🏼‍♀️
“If I visualize, have a plan, and work my ass off, it will come!” Well yes, quite frankly, I 100% believe that’s true but amongst all that visualization and showing up early and leaving late is continuing to believe in the process even when it takes longer than expected!

3. #resiliency 
While often times life is filled with sunshine and butterflies, it has its fair share of curve balls too. Getting my ass up and shifting my mindset when life knocks me down has been a big one that I’m continuously evolving.

4. The importance of #community 
I have always loved my family and friends but this year has taken it to a new level. I have so much respect as admiration for those in my life. I am so grateful to have been able to spend more time with them this year than I have in the past. I love how everyone has their own unique little quirks that make me love them even more for who they are. 💕

Today I went to the gym for the first time in thre Today I went to the gym for the first time in three weeks! 😯While it was certainly not to the caliber that I usually enjoy... I must say it felt SO GOOD to #sweat ! 💦

🤕Well my arm is still in a sling and I felt like a jamoke walking into the gym, I charged in regardless did not care what anyone else thought. I did the exercises that I could which ranged from bodyweight squats to lunges with a band and some stair climbing.

This experience has shifted my perspective on how some people experience the gym. In the past for me it’s been competitive, energizing, and confidence building but I can certainly see now how it can be a place where people feel uncomfortable and insecure. 

💭That is certainly a path that I felt my mind tempted to wander today but in recognizing that I quickly shifted my mindset to being a bad ass and just doing my thing. 💪🏼

Sometimes we all have to take note of where our #mindset is at and shift our #perspective to ensure that we are continuously maintaining or progressing towards our goals. Life is not always a cakewalk and sometimes you have to walk off the cake! 😉🎂 

🏆In the end it’s consistency and progress that matters more than just the achievement of a goal. Trust in the process!
